DMO company founder Hans Otto Köddermann passes away

In 1983, he founded the DMO together with a fellow model pilot out of his passion for this sport, which he had been enthusiastically practicing since his youth. At that time, model airplanes were still assembled individually, the balsa wood was sawn and the individual parts were painted by himself, as ready-made kits were only available much later. Mr. Köddermann quickly recognized the potential that lay in commercial model flying - and still does today - and was one of the first providers on the market to offer commercial liability insurance for model aircraft. He also continuously expanded the benefits of private DMO model insurance for the benefit of customers. He was always thinking ahead, was always open and receptive to new technologies and thus recognized the importance and possibilities of IT and ultimately the Internet at an early stage, which, together with the advent of drones/copters, allowed DMO to continue to grow.

We miss him and will always honor his memory; we will continue the DMO in his spirit.

On 17.12.2024, the day of his funeral, we will only be available to a very limited extent.
