New general ruling makes the work of wildlife rescuers much easier in Germany

As Dr. Daniel Phiesel, Head of the Unmanned Aviation Project Group at the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport, announced today, a national exemption rule is to be issued for Germany from 20.11.2024, which will permanently allow drone pilots with thermal imaging cameras for fawn rescue to reduce the EU-wide 150 m distance rule to residential, commercial or recreational areas to up to 10 m. This was previously a temporary exemption. This was previously only a temporary exception.

Other wild animals also benefit from this in the fall, as they are often injured in accidents during the rutting season and can be found more quickly by drone.

We are happy to offer suitable liability insurance cover for fawn and animal rescue.
